Our History

Ken & Bonnie Jackson have been involved in the auction profession for over 30 years. They began working for Auctioneers Glenn Short & Associates working up through every phase of the auction process. They learned the business from the bottom up. In 1984 Mr. Short retired for health and family reasons and Ken & Bonnie purchased his business. After graduating in June, 1984 from The Western College of Auctioneering in Billings, MT they grew their business rapidly and soon it went from conducting 5-6 auctions per year to 2-3 per month. They specialized in antiques & collectibles, estates, small business liquidations and storage foreclosures. Ken continued his career with the Utah Dept. of Corrections while Bonnie booked auctions, ran the office, set up the auctions and raised 5 great children. Ken organized merchandise pickups and help to organize and set up the auctions after work and on weekends. They held auctions at the S.L. County Fairgrounds and various other rented facilities for many years for various clients including bank trustees, estate executors, school districts, business owners and private individuals. Knowing the value of forward thinking and recognizing the growth of technology, in 1987 they began computerizing their auction procedures and practices to better serve their customers and clients.In 2001, Ken retired from the Dept. of Corrections and a new phase of growth began. Working together Ken & Bonnie continued to look for new and better ways to serve their patrons. Striving always to be well informed Ken & Bonnie have attended numerous educational seminars and classes. Ken graduated from the Certified Auctioneer Institute at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN and has earned the CAI designation. The CAI is the highest designation awarded in the auction industry. It is a three-part executive development program designed for decision-makers in auction firms. Only 850 auctioneers in the US & Canada hold this prestigious designation. Ken & Bonnie also regularly attend seminars and conferences conducted by the National Auctioneers Association to keep up on the latest trends and technologies available to aid in providing better solutions to the needs of their sellers and buyers.In February of 2005, they moved into their new 8000 sq. ft. auction facility in West Jordan, UT to provide an expanded auction experience for sellers and buyers. This has enabled them to provide a safe and secure venue to showcase client’s merchandise.
